Privacy Policy
Pet Forever has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Your pets and their progress stay on your device. Data leaves your device only when you choose to make your own pet from photos.
What stays on your device
Your pets, their names, their care progress (coins, level, streak, items and scenes), your settings, and the pictures the app prepares for its widgets. This data lives in the app's private storage and in a shared container that only the app and its widgets can read. It leaves your device only through iCloud device backups you control.
When you make your own pet
To turn photos of your cat or dog into a pet, the app sends our server:
- the photos you choose (up to four),
- whether your pet is a cat or a dog, and the name you give it,
- Apple's signed receipt for your purchase, so we can check that you paid. It holds no card details and no Apple ID,
- a random code the app creates, so your device can collect its own pet. It is not linked to your name, your Apple ID or your device.
Before the upload, the app removes each photo's location and other metadata. Our server runs on Railway, in the United States. It sends the photos to fal.ai, which runs the image and video models that build your pet. fal.ai handles them under its own privacy policy.
We use your photos only to build your pet. We never use them to train AI models, and we never sell them or share them for anything else.
How long we keep it
- Your photos. Our server deletes them as soon as it has made your pet's portrait, usually within minutes. If you do not buy, or if making fails, it deletes them within 24 hours.
- Copies at fal.ai. We tell fal.ai to delete every file we send it, and every file it makes for us, after 6 hours. fal.ai may keep a record of each request, without the images, for up to 30 days.
- Your finished pet. Its pictures stay on our server for 7 days so your device can download them, then we delete them. Your device keeps its own copy.
- A short record of each pet you make. Its job number, cat or dog, its name and the purchase's transaction number stay on our server, so a purchase cannot be used twice and so we can help you if you contact us.
- Request logs. Our hosting provider may keep standard request logs, such as IP addresses, for a short time for security.
Payments
Apple handles every payment. We never see your card details or your Apple ID. To ask for a refund, use the Request a refund button that the app shows when making your pet fails, or go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
Your choices
- Making your own pet is optional. The rest of the app works without it, and without a network connection.
- In the app, Settings > Delete all my data removes the pets you made from photos and all care progress from your device, and asks our server to delete its copies right away.
- You can also email us to ask us to delete your data.
Permissions
- Camera and photos
- Used only when you make your own pet, to take or choose its photos, after you agree on the consent screen.
- Notifications
- Optional. Care reminders and the "your pet is ready" reminder are scheduled on your device. No push server is involved.
Children
The app is rated 4+. The photos you send should show your pet only. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label before that version ships.
